Brief introduction to OSA

    The Optical Society of America, founded in 1916, is the world's leading optical and photonics professional association. Up to now, OSA has more than 106000 members in 134 countries, including scientists, engineers, educators, technicians and business leaders from all over the world.

    The OSA database Optics InfoBase includes 14 OSA journals , 8 cooperative publication journals and OSA subject meeting series ,Minutes of three major industry meetings , OFC、CLEO、FIO, and newly launched Optics Image Bank ( OSA optical image gallery ) in 2012 .

    According to Thomson Reuters 2011, Journal Citation Reports data. The 15 high-quality peer-reviewed journals published and co-published by OSA provide a 35% volume of literature in the field of optics and photonics. The number of cited documents accounts for 41% of the total cited literature in these two fields.

    The aim of OSA is to promote the development, application and preservation of optical and photonics knowledge and to spread this knowledge to the world. In addition to the fields of optics and photonics, it is also for physics, biology, medicine and electrical engineering.
